This is my final line-up of billboards. I decided to make a series of billboards instead of just one because I thought they would work better as a group. On each one there features an animal escaping out of their respective coin with the copyline 'Breaking through barriers since 1921' and also the tagline 'Positive Ireland'. I think this copyline suited the concept I had, as it tied together the past, the recession and positivity.

These are my final design t-shirts. I have one featuring all the images from my billboard and then one matching each of the billboards. I decided that the different t-shirts worked better. Each of the t-shirts feature the animal's silhouette, and the background colour reflects the colour of the coin they come from. The animal 'escapes' onto the back of the t-shirt.
T-shirt Ideas
This is the first draft of t-shirts I had designed. I wasn't sure how to work the idea from a billboard to a t-shirt so I tried a number of different ways. But the idea was changing, so I decided to change the t-shirts too!
Development of Billboards
I have fixed the billboards so that they are more visually appealing and read better. As well as this, I decided to put the coins in the animal's natural habitat such as the deer in the forest and the horses out at paddock. After looking over all the work I had done to date I realised the concept was becoming very negative. The message I was trying to convey was getting lost. I needed to change and improve it.
Making a Start on the Billboards
This is my first draft of billboards. I researched idioms and came up with a list of ones which were animal related. From this I tried to fit them in focusing on the recession. I used the ideas from my thumbnails to design new coins, such as this one of the dead fish on the first billboard. I wasn't happy with the layout or the copylines of these billboards so i decided to try and improve them.

I started off with brainstorming 'Positive Ireland'. From this I decided that I would focus on heritage and on finance. I put these two ideas together by using the old currency, Irish Sterling. From this I played around with the theme of the recession and how the country wants to escape from the negativity of this current recession. This is what I came up with:

Natural Energy Billboard
Saw this a few weeks ago, thought it was really clever. It's a billboard powered by oranges for a Tropicana Juice ad in France. Thousands of spikes of copper and zinc metal, wire and hundreds of oranges created a large battery which the billboard was powered on.
